When I originally conceived this page, there were going to be other police officers in the shot, including a detective who would become Lightbringer’s contact. However, thanks to my ever-valiant efforts to integrate characters into a background, that didn’t pan out. As such, that’s why the Chief Crane’s head doesn’t show up in the first panel – the focus was meant to be on the detective I was going to draw. Go figure.
On another note, this page was my first attempt at shading! I thought it turned out fairly well, but frankly it was far too time consuming, especially when I wanted to get the comic on a twice-per-week basis.
