So, in case you weren't paying attention, I like Watchmen.
Don't worry, I haven't forgotten Nite Owl. ^_~
In any case, this page has got some philosophy for you. Look at all the difficulties that the President of the United States has in trying to manage a country that has so many diverse opinions, religions, philosophies, viewpoints, etc., etc. Now try to imagine a single figure trying to manage THE ENTIRE WORLD, trying to play all the millions of factors and differing beliefs into something that, for the most part, runs fairly smoothly. I won't say it's impossible, since I don't really believe in "impossible," but consider the sheer difficulty level of it. Ozymandias in Watchmen believed that he could control it all or at least shape things in the way he thought needed to be done, but the truth is that no one can know the exact outcome of things. There is no pattern outside of true, pure mathematics that will always display the same predictable answer and no one person should think they can do it all. Ozymandias didn't understand his limits but Lightbringer does - he's not a God, he's just a guy in a cape and a mask who wants to help people.
And that, my friends, I'd say is a nobler way of doing things than thinking too far outside of the box.
